Paying for your holiday

On booking with Dark Sky Dome, we ask for a 25% deposit with the final payment due 30 days prior to arrival

Changing or cancelling a booking

Under normal circumstances.

After you have paid a deposit, if you need to cancel your booking completely, we will charge a £50 admin fee and offer a refund for the rest of your deposit only if the dome can be re-booked. If the dome cannot be rebooked, you will forfeit your deposit.

No changes to bookings can be made or refunds given after final payment is received.

Please note we cannot be held responsible for refunds or expenses you incur if you are unable to commit to your holiday.

Please also note that we cannot be held responsible for refunds or expenses that you incur if we are prevented from fulfilling your booking because of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but not be limited to) war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or similar events ("Force Majeure").

Bookings made through the online booking system are provisional until confirmed by Dark Sky Dome.

Your booking must be paid for in full 30 days prior to the beginning of your holiday, non-payment of the balance will be considered a cancellation so please make a note to remind yourself.

Refundable deposits

A refundable damage deposit is required from bookings. This is £250 this will be added to the booking fee and returned within a week of checkout providing everything is in order.

Arriving at Dark Sky Dome

Check in is 3pm onwards. There is a key box for gaining access to the Dome. Torches are provided once in the Dome, if you plan to arrive in darkness bring a torch to access the main gates. Please have a look at our website for details of the Dome, what's included and what to bring with you and be sure to contact us in advance of your stay if you have any questions l about what to expect.

Take care during your stay

We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal possessions or vehicles.

Guests must take full responsibility for any children in their group. Children using the mezzanine nets must not be left unattended and do so at their own risk.

The location of the Dark Sky Dome means that there are hazards to be always aware of. Guests must be careful when walking around the grounds, especially in darkness.

Every effort has been made to ensure guests safety, but we cannot accept responsibility for any accidental injuries.

Campfires and stoves

Fires should be kept small and manageable and can only be lit in designated areas. These areas are the wood burning stove inside your dome and the fire pit in front of the dome.

A generous amount of firewood is provided. Additional wood can be purchased from Straiton Stores.

The lighting of fires can be dangerous and extreme caution must be always exercised, we cannot accept liability for injuries caused by the building of or lighting of a fire. During times of increased Wildfire risk, it will not be possible to use the Firepit.

There is strictly No Smoking policy inside the Dome. Anyone smoking withing the Dome will lose their Deposit.

Candles are not permitted to be used inside the Dome.

Consideration for the Wildlife

Strictly no amplified music in the Dome and noise levels must be kept reasonable.

Anyone wilfully disturbing of harassing any of the wildlife will be ejected from the Dome.

There is a strict no pets policy in or around the Dome.

Mobile and Wi-Fi

There is limited mobile coverage at the Dome. Wi-Fi is free, if your phone has Wi-Fi calling capability turn this on if you wish to make or receive calls.
